Dear Lil Roots Friends & Families,
Welcome! We are so excited to gather with our new friends this winter season. As the days get shorter and the weather colder, we find ourselves turning inward to find warmth. Warm ‘farm to table’ meals, stories by the fireplace, and cozy circle times provide many wonderful sensory and relationship building opportunities together.
One of the Nursery Rhymes we will enjoy is:
‘Pease Porridge Hot’. This fun interactive song helps the children develop both language and rhythm.
“Pease Porridge Hot”
Peas porridge hot, peas porridge cold
Peas porridge in the pot, nine days old;
Some like it hot, some like it cold,
Some like it in the pot, nine days old!
We will fill our bellies each morning with warm grains and fresh fruit to give us the energy we need to play in the fresh chilly air and to explore our beautiful backyard.
Taking time to bundle up in with all those layers of clothes will be the focus of learning to dress and building self help skills needed for autonomy and building self confidence. Wearing soft woolen undergarments Woolen undergarments wick away moisture from little one’s skin so they stay warm and dry during the cold winter days ahead.
We look forward to enjoying this season with your children!
With love,
Niya and Kate
