The Yurt, Apple Blossom’s New Addition

Yurts are traditional tents or enclosures created to protect the inhabitants from the elements. While these shelters continue to exist today among nomadic tribes, the outbreak of COVID-19 has popularized the yurt at restaurants, coffee shops, and even a preschool! Yes, you read that correctly, a preschool! Apple Blossom Preschool & Early Learning Center has recently added a yurt to our property to provide social distancing opportunities, adding a new level of protection to playtime.

Why Yurts Are Great for Apple Blossom Preschool

The obvious benefit of having a yurt during the COVID-19 pandemic is for separation. This may help reduce the spread of illness. Another reason this yurt is a great addition to Apple Blossom is the fact that it offers the ability to be outside and stay warm during the colder winter months. On the other hand, it offers plenty of shade for outdoor time in the summer heat.  Additionally, yurts are highly customizable and durable. This allows students to be creative within the yurt which further helps their development.

About Apple Blossom Preschool & Early Learning Center

Apple Blossom is a preschool and learning center for toddlers who are learning to be separate from their parents within a nurturing environment. The focus of the curriculum is on students ages 3 to 5 years old and helps nurture childhood development by encouraging creative free play, nature engagement, and interaction with materials like stories and songs.
